When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted life in 2020, the shutdown of schools across Nigeria hit students from low-income communities the hardest. While some private schools transitioned online, many public schools—especially in under-resourced areas—offered no learning alternatives.
For students like Omotuyole Imole David, "everything seemed to stand still. There was a sense of stagnation, a lack of movement."
The gap was growing, and students like Imole risked losing more than just class time. That's when LOTSI stepped in.

The Continuous Learning Program
With movement restrictions gradually easing, LOTSI founder Imma Alleluyanatha-Anozia launched the Continuous Learning Program in Lekki. Thanks to the generosity of Faith Word Family Center, we secured a space where volunteer teachers—both online and in person—could support students in core subjects like Mathematics and English.
The initiative gave students more than just academic support; it provided them with a safe and structured place to study during uncertain times, consistent learning routines when everything else felt chaotic, and hope that their education could continue despite the challenges.
Meeting Imole
Imole was one of the first students to join. Quiet but determined, he showed up consistently. Day after day, week after week, he came ready to learn. The program helped him to "walk extra" in his studies, gaining new skills and knowledge that made all the difference.
His dedication paid off in a big way. That one opportunity rekindled his commitment to learning.
The Transformation Continues
That one opportunity rekindled his commitment to learning. But Imole's story didn't end with passing his exams. His excellent WAEC results led to his admission into Anchor University Lagos, a private university.
Today, Imole has achieved something remarkable: he is a proud graduate of Anchor University.
I am grateful for the knowledge and skills I gained. I'm now rooted in my faith, and I know that God has guided me through every step of the way. Thank you, mommy IMMA for the lessons and for the positive impact you've had on my life.
